Chef James Mazzio was born in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. At the young age of 19 Mazzio traveled to Aspen, Colorado for powder skiing only to find himself on a culinary adventure. A self-taught chef mentored by Chef Charles Dale, owner of the former Renaissance of Aspen, Mazzio learned to create crafted mountain fare cuisine among other exquisite dishes. With this knowledge from the Aspen culinary scene Chef Mazzio had the confidence and foundation needed to search for his own kitchen. Chef was hired at 15 Degrees in Boulder, where he challenged himself and gained the title of “Best New Chef” by Food & Wine Magazine. Mazzio’s creative touch and innovative cuisine are well known throughout the culinary world. It is a pleasure to have his talent at the Edge Restaurant & Bar in Snowmass Village, CO.
